Mark's specialist area is employment law and industrial relations where he advises some of New Zealand's leading/iconic brands, particularly in the soft drink, food/confectionery, meat and sporting apparel industries.
He provides strategic advice to employers, senior executives and HR practitioners. He has extensive experience as an advocate in personal grievance claims, appearing in mediations, and in conducting private negotiations on behalf of clients.
Mark advises on the full range of workplace issues including:

- acquisitions and the transfer of businesses
- large – scale restructurings and redundancy
- collective bargaining and potential industrial action
- holidays and parental leave
- health and safety, including stress claims and OSH prosecutions

A major part of Mark's employment practice is helping clients successfully manage workplace change, disciplinary and termination processes, and potential disputes.
Mark also has significant experience in commercial dispute resolution, appearing in the District and High Courts, advising on a wide range of contract, property, fair trading and franchise disputes.
