Neil specialises in corporate, banking and finance, mining and resources law. His extensive experience includes acquisitions and divestments of companies and business assets, capital raisings, establishment and structuring of licensed banks, investment houses and mining companies, and acting for lenders and borrowers in major financing transactions.
Neil has been extensively involved in the resources industry, acting for mining companies, coal producers, oil exploration companies, and financiers to mining and petroleum projects in Australia and overseas.
Neil is a current committee member of the NSW branch of the Australian Mining & Petroleum Lawyers Association. He has been a director of a number of public listed and private companies, and is a past Chairman of the Australia-New Zealand Business Council.
Recent Experience includes:
- Acting for non-bank financiers to development projects in various states and territories of Australia
- Advising non-resident companies on establishment in Australia
- Advising on and documenting establishment of business entities including companies, unit and hybrid trusts, limited partnerships
- Advising mining companies on joint venture arrangements, farm-outs, farm-ins and project financing
- Advising private sector group providing consultancy services to Government of Nigeria on development of non-petroleum resource sector
- Representing property developers in relation to site acquisition and aggregation, planning approvals, project financing and asset realisation
- Advising generally on corporate and commercial issues arising under Commonwealth and State law
