Duncan Cotterill and the Salvation Army

We are proud to be associated with the Salvation Army and have worked on several joint projects over the years.
We are currently sponsoring The Salvation Army’s Social Policy and Parliamentary Unit, which works closely with government in an advisory role on social issues such as poverty, housing and addiction problems.
Major Campbell Roberts, head of the unit and director of Social Services for The Salvation Army:
![]() | “We focus on encouraging policies and practices that strengthen the social framework of communities and build a better, more just, world. Our research is influenced by our work alongside those on the margins of society, men, women and children affected every day by poverty, addiction, homelessness, social isolation, unemployment and imprisonment. We aim to give a voice to those within our communities who might otherwise go unheard. “The current tough times are making it even harder for some New Zealanders to survive. In our work we see the other side of life, which many people don’t even know exists here. The unit’s job is, through its research, to work with government and business leaders to bring about social change. We greatly appreciate that Duncan Cotterill is supporting us in our efforts to make life better for marginalised New Zealanders.” |
Duncan Cotterill has previously provided funding for an emergency accommodation centre in Christchurch used to temporarily house at-risk women in a safe environment.
