Duncan Cotterill expands in Sydney

Callum Reid has been appointed a partner at Duncan Cotterill in Sydney, continuing recent expansion of the office.

Reid has practised in commercial dispute resolution, corporate restructuring and insolvency for more than 20 years in Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. He has worked at major commercial law firms including most recently Norton White and Henry Davis York in Sydney and Simpson Grierson in Auckland.

Reid has a particular expertise in financial services litigation and cross-border dispute resolution. Recent roles include acting as the representative for the liquidator of the New Zealand HIH companies on the Australian creditor committees. He has also been a legal adviser to the liquidator of New Cap Reinsurance Corporation in Australia.

The appointment is a key part of Duncan Cotterill’s expansion in the Sydney market, where it operates a boutique commercial practice, which includes a very strong employment law group.

Chief executive Janice Fredric said she expected further expansion in the Sydney office before Christmas.
