Duncan Cotterill expands in Auckland
National and trans-Tasman law firm Duncan Cotterill is merging its Auckland office with the practice of Miller Bradley Lawlor, appointing Chris Bradley and Mark Lawlor to the partnership.
The new partners bring further expertise and depth to Duncan Cotterill’s commercial practice – Bradley with his particular interest in commercial and franchise law while Lawlor brings employment law specialisation.
Duncan Cotterill established its Auckland office in 1987. It also has offices in Christchurch, Wellington, Nelson and Sydney.
Chairman Hugh Lindo said demand in Auckland had grown rapidly, particularly in the trans-Tasman and finance sectors, and the merger would strengthen Duncan Cotterill’s resources for its clients.
He said that integral to Duncan Cotterill’s growth was the firm’s focus on its specialist commercial services. Auckland and Sydney were earmarked as particular areas in which the firm wanted to increase its presence.
Duncan Cotterill, which is currently celebrating 150 years in practice, has 31 partners and 180 staff.
