Duncan Cotterill continues growth
National and trans-Tasman law firm Duncan Cotterill has appointed eight new associates to its steadily expanding ranks.
Three of the new associates are in Auckland.
Gurleen Bains is an associate of the commercial property team, with particular interest in syndications and their acquisition of commercial property (real estate and businesses). She also advises overseas clients on immigration applications and acquiring businesses or property in New Zealand.
Greg King also deals primarily in property law. His property transactions have included acting for major property developers, including the acquisition of two $40 million development sites in Auckland and a $20 million high country station in Wanaka.. He is dual qualified in the UK and New Zealand.
Shane Kilian a former IRD legal specialist, is part of Duncan Cotterill’s taxation and insolvency group. He was previously with the IRD’s technical and legal unit, where he specialised in advanced and complex cases within the taxation arena.
Duncan Cotterill’s Christchurch office has five new associates.
Rebecca Jefferies specialises in finance and banking and securities law. She also advises on general commercial and property law, including company formation, joint ventures, residential and commercial property transactions and commercial contracts.
Scott Whitaker operates in the finance and banking sector, and corporate and commercial law. He has acted for banks, finance companies, property developers and companies ranging from listed companies to owner operated companies.
Brendan McCashin specialises in insurance-related litigation, particularly regarding professional indemnity, statutory liability and public liability insurance. Brendan has acted for several clients, who have been prosecuted by the Department of Labour and the Commerce Commission.
Jason Wren has joined the growing family law team at Duncan Cotterill after spending 11 years practising family law in Auckland. His areas of interest include Relationship Property Division and Child Care Arrangements.
Oliver Roberts, who is dual qualified in New Zealand, England and Wales, works predominantly in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. He previously worked in the same field as a senior solicitor for Nabarro Nathanson in the UK.
