Duncan Cotterill expands taxation group

Shane Kilian, a former IRD legal specialist, has joined the Auckland office of top 10 law firm Duncan Cotterill as part of its specialist taxation and insolvency groups.

Shane was previously with the IRD’s technical and legal unit, where he specialised in advanced and complex cases within the taxation arena, including avoidance, evasion, fraud cases, insolvency and matters involving international law.

He has also specialised in all aspects of litigation including commercial, civil and criminal in South Africa and New Zealand. His current practice consists of tax, insolvency and general commercial litigation.

Shane initially graduated from the Rand Afrikaans University in South Africa after which he completed his Masters in taxation at the University of Auckland. He is currently admitted to the bar in New Zealand, South Africa and New South Wales.
